Getting to the airport from Manhattan by cab is like what, $40 now? Forget that. Don't be intimidated by New York transit. It's the best run and safest in the country.

I can say the same for the subway in Seoul, South Korea. There's enough English writing on the signs for someone who reads only English to find their way. In Tokyo though, that's not always the case. But then that only makes it more fun!
